In Clovis Unified, students are at the center of every decision we make, and we value and recognize that through our students we are woven together as a community. Our volunteer Directors and generous donors to the Foundation for Clovis Schools share that understanding, and have stepped into a gap caused by the fact that our school district receives significantly less per pupil funding than other school districts in Fresno County.
Where our dollars may fall short, the Foundation for Clovis Schools is there. Through their Students of Promise scholarships, they help launch at-risk students onto a path that includes graduation from high school and enrollment in post-secondary education. Their Classroom Grants program provides opportunities for our educators to innovate and teach outside the box. Every year, through their New Teacher Grants program, they empower teachers new to Clovis Unified to create vibrant learning environments in their classrooms. And, the Foundation’s Doc Buchanan Leadership Academy provides district leaders with training and resources grounded in the core values and educational beliefs that contributed to Clovis Unified’s success over time.
Clovis Unified has strong educational beliefs and core values, one of which focuses on the powerful relationship that exists between a community and its schools. As both a product of Clovis Unified and long-time district employee myself, I can attest that such relationships are the key to great communities like ours. I encourage you to consider becoming a partner with us and supporting the Foundation for Clovis Schools today.
Sincerely,
Corrine Folmer, Ed.D.
